Obituary for Maria Toth Horvath

Maria Toth Horvath, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 18, 1935, in Bőny, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Ferencz Toth and Maria Nemet.

After meeting in Hungary, Maria and Louis Horvath journeyed to the United States in search of a better life. They were married upon arrival on December 27, 1956 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. They spent 49 years together until his passing in 2005.

Maria started working in a dress shop in Greenwich, New York soon after her arrival. Later, she worked at Golden Fleece Paper Mill and she also worked and retired from Sherwood Medical.

She loved playing bingo and watching game shows. Maria loved gardening, and took great pride in her beautiful red geraniums. She loved the time she got to spend with her family. Maria was also a communicate of the St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward for many years.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert L. Horvath and his wife, Julia, Zoltan and his wife, Cindy; her two grandchildren, Zachary Horvath, Nicole Holden and her husband Lee; and other relatives in Hungary.

A Funeral Service will be conducted following the calling hour at 11am at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the funeral service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fort Edward.
