SOUTH GLENS FALLS

Mary A. Tucker, 87, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital with her family by her side.

Born November 10, 1930 in Hague, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elwin and Cecil (Duell) Elethorpe.

Mary graduated from Hague Central School in 1948.

On May 11, 1950 she married Frederick “Ted” Tucker at the Episcopalian Church in Glens Falls, NY.

Mary was an avid sports fan who loved to watch baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox. She also attended many sporting events at South Glens Falls High School for her children and grandchildren including baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, and wrestling. Mary also enjoyed going out to dinner, and was known for her love of anything that was the color red, including cardinals. Spending Christmas Eve with her family was a yearly tradition, and Mary’s family meant the world to her. She will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her husband Frederick “Ted” Tucker, her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Ormsby, her son-in-law Michael Phillips, and her great-grandson Brayden Tracy.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Patricia Allen (Henry), Kathleen Phillips, Stephen Tucker (Debbie), Brenda Viehmann (Bradley), Brian Tucker (Mary), Mary Beth Snowball (Timothy), and Jeffrey Tucker (Stacy), her cousin Edna Elethorpe Butler, as well as 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Mary’s request there will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be celebrated at 1pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Southside Cemetery, South Glens Falls, NY. Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
