Carol Ann (Colvin) Ward, 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by many loved ones.

Born on November 29, 1941, in Argyle, she was daughter of the late Horace and Edith (Wade) Colvin.

Carol was a 1960 graduate of Argyle Central School. On October 27, 1963, Carol married the love of her life, Hiram Ward Sr. at the Hudson Falls Methodist Church. For over 20 years, Carol worked at Aroxy Cleaners.

She loved to play bingo, basket fundraisers, read, go to the casino and research her family’s heritage. She loved going to dinner with her dinner partners, Hiram, Ron and Joan. Carol’s grandsons meant the world to her and she would do anything for them. She loved family reunions with her extended family including her nieces, nephews and cousins that she adored. Carol was a woman with a very large heart that cared about everyone around her.

In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her son, Hiram Sweet Ward Jr.; her grandson, Dylan Ward; her sister, Lorraine Aldous; her brothers-in-law, Ronald Taylor and Robert Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Hiram; her children, Kelly Brown Steele and her husband, Jed, of Hartford, Kathy Durkee and her husband, Kevin of South Glens Falls; her grandchildren, Justin Brown of Glens Falls, Seth Brown and his wife, Donna Rae of Hudson Falls, Kyle Durkee and Ryan Durkee of South Glens Falls; her siblings, Edward Colvin and his wife, Diane, Paul Colvin and his wife, Charlene, Ronald Colvin and his wife, Joan, Beatrice Tilford and her husband, Charles and Jody Colvin; her brothers-in-law, Carl Taylor and his wife, Gloria, Richard Ward and his wife, Judy and Chauncey Ward; her special sister-in-law, Bernice Ward; her sisters-in-law, Muriel Taylor, Betty Taylor and Josephine DeVecchi; her special uncle, Clyde Wade; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held for the family on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 1pm to 4pm at the home of her daughter, Kathy, for further details please contact the family.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in Carol’s memory can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
