Mabel A. Washburn, 92, formerly of James Road, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2018, at the Granville Center.

Born on July 24, 1925 in Johnsburg, She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Dora (Moffitt) Dutcher.

Mabel worked with Dave Sheridan at Sheridan Catheter for many years starting with him in the Red Barn on Coach Road. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Granville. Along with her husband Cassius, she enjoyed traveling the country roads, especially the dirt roads of New York and Vermont where she would often pack a bag lunch. After Cassius passed away, her daughter, Juanita and son Danny then took her on many trips.

Beisdes her parents she was also predeceased by her husband, Cassius Washburn Sr. as well as her baby boy Teddy and son, Cassius Washburn Jr. and brothers, James, Bernard and Kenneth Dutcher.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Anthony Washburn and his wife Cheryl of Webster, Florida, Juanita Truehart of West Rupert, Vt. and Danny Washburn and his wife Denise of Salem; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; her two sisters, Rose Washburn of Cambridge and Venita VanNess and husband Darryl of Brooksville, Florida and several nieces, nephew and cousins.

At Mabel’s request there will be no calling hours.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle.

Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main St. Argyle, NY 12809.

Donations may be made in her memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
