FORT EDWARD

Alice Savasta, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018 at her home.

Born on August 30, 1930, in Waterford, NY she was the daughter of the late Fred H. Sr. and Beatrice (Cameron) Godfrey.

Alice married John Savasta on January 21, 1951, they spent 28 years together until his passing in June of 1979. She worked for over 30 years at General Electric as a time study and at Lifeline for 25 years.

Alice was a very companionate and social woman who would help anyone in need. She supported and was a a member of many organizations, which included the Historical Society, Red Hat Society and a Girl Scout Leader and a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Alice was predeceased by her brothers, Fred H. Godfrey, Kenneth J. Godfrey, Lawrence C. Godfrey and James H. Godfrey; as well as several brother and sisters-in-law.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, John “Jack” Savasta and his significant other, Sherry, Laurie Arcuri and her husband, Charles “Chuck”, and JoAnn Slattery; her grandchildren Alicen and Nickolas Savasta, Corinne and Carla Arcuri, Tucker and Madison Slattery; her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Gunner, Guiliana and Adrian; her sisters, Katherine Maziejka and her husband, Stanley and Beatrice Nichols; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4-7pm on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward.

Rite of Committal will follow Mass at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
