Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jean Dixon can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Jean Estella Dixon

Jean E. Dixon, 75, passed away Monday June 25, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey on October 9, 1942 she was the daughter of the late John and Isabel (Marks) Dixon.

She graduated from South Glens Falls High School then continued her education at Castleton State University.

Jean was a teacher at Fort Edward School from 1966-1997.

She was a lifetime member of the Adirondack Friends Meeting.

Jean enjoyed gardening, football and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her son, William Joseph Etu IV; daughter, Denais M.A. Etu-Stoughton.

Left to cherish Jean’s memory include her companion, William Etu; her son, John Peter Etu and his wife, Tracy; brothers, Jack Dixon, Don Dixon and Ken Dixon; grandchildren, Shea, Gabrielle, Quincy and Gianna, step grandchild, Jill Stoughton; son-in-law, Scott Stoughton; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Jean’s request there will be no calling hours.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
