Obituary for Thomas J. "Boog" Brunell

Fort Edward -

Thomas J. “Boog” Brunell, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Glens Falls on December 4, 1957, he was the son of Norma (Roberts) Brunell and the late Eugene Brunell.

He was a graduate of the Fort Edward High School.

Boog worked for Irving Tissue holding down many different positions working his way up to Op Support over the past 38 years.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.

Boog was a very active member of the Idle Hour Club and was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion squad 1133.

He enjoyed boating, music, camping, fishing for “lakers”, cooking, cruising in his Ford Mustang, spending time at the pit and his second home the Idle Hour, golfing and enjoyed his annual golf trip to Atlantic City, bowling was an avid Mets fan, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson.

Boog was known for his smile and his sense of humor that consisted of one-liners and bad jokes.

Besides his father, Boog is predeceased by his sister Darlene Brunell Bowe.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother Norma Brunell, children, Todd Brunell and wife Nicole, Kristine LaPointe and her husband Nick all of Fort Edward, Elizabeth Willis and husband Joshua of Hudson Falls, grandchildren, Keirdon Brunell, Kayden Brunell, Ian Brunell, Brendan LaPointe, Nathan LaPointe, Cole Brunell, Emma Guyette, and Callum Guyette, one great grandson, Joseph Brunell, siblings, Karen Boothby of Hudson Falls, Joanne Fisher and husband David of Fort Edward, Beth Guarino of Palm Springs, FL, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828 with Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will be at the convenience of the family at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
