Maureen Ann Rourke, 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 24, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Glens Falls on February 9, 1955 to the late John and Marie (McKernon) Potvin.

Maureen was a long time resident of Gansevoort. She spent her entire teaching career teaching special education at Fort Edward school. While there Maureen coached modified volleyball in the early years and golf when it became a sport. She continued to coach golf after her retirement. Maureen enjoyed outdoor activities such as cross country skiing, snow shoeing. kayaking. golf and walking her dog Gus. Maureen enjoyed traveling and did so often with her friends, cousin and family. Maureen enjoyed continuing education courses, her red hat group, the “Red Hot Tee-zeers and spending time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Dennis Rourke, father John Potvin, mother Marie Potvin and brother Stephen Potvin.

Maureen is survived by her sisters Noreen Potvin and her partner Denise Sloane, Peggy Seese and her husband Ross and many nieces, nephew s, great nieces and nephews.
