Obituary for Arnold H. Mandwelle

Queensbury
Arnold Mandwelle,89, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.

Born July 18, 1926 in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Morris and Fannie (Klyman) Mandwelle.

Arnold was a graduate of John Marshall High School, Syracuse University and Albany College of Pharmacy.

He was a World War II veteran stationed in Germany. After the war, Arnold was employed as a pharmacist in Syracuse, Albany and Queensbury, NY until his retirement in 1992. He was formally the resident pharmacist and Store Manager of the Year multiple times.

Arnold was an active member of the Congregation Shaaray Tefila and for several years enjoyed working Bingo Night. He was an avid reader and enjoyed his many walks where he would frequently stop and converse with the people he saw.

In addition to his parents Arnold was predecease by his wife of 61 years Jeanne; sister, Gertrude and her husband Joe Moskowitz; brothers, Meyer Mandwelle, Abraham Mandwelle and Jack Mandwelle as well as his brother-in-law Jacob Parsky.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Renny Brodeur of Glens Falls and Lee Roberts and her husband William of Queensbury; sons, Peter and Jonathan Mandwelle both of Queensbury; grandchildren, Rebecca Snyder of Manchester, PA, Patrick Mandwelle of South Glens Falls, Morgan Mandwelle of Glens Falls, Kellen Roberts and his wife Alisha of Clifton Park, Miles Mandwelle of NYC and Jordan Mandwelle of Queensbury; great grandchildren, Tristan, Fern Lee, and Isaac Leiphart of Manchester, PA, Kaylee and Natalie Roberts of Clifton Park and Tori Derush of Glens Falls; sisters, Esther Parsky of Coconut Creek, FL; brother-in-law, Mills Crandell of Fort Ann; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend many thanks to ALL the caregivers who touched Arnold’s life and especially for the past 2 years. Also to the Congregation Shaaray Tefila and its members for their caring and support over the years with special thanks to Bonnie Yanklowitz and Sid Kanofsky.

Friends may call from 4-7p.m. on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 136 Main Street South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A Memorial Service will be at the convenience of the family under the direction of M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Arnold’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
