Obituary for Adrienne Margaret Battease (Springer)

Hartford

Adrienne M. Battease, 79 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on August 22, 1937 in Queens Bay, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Varady) and George Hungerford.

She was a graduate of Hartford Central School.

Adrienne was a lifetime member of the Hartford United Methodist Church.

She loved her children and watched many children over the years. Adrienne was a hard worker and helped her husband on their dairy farm and enjoyed her horses.

Besides her parents and step-father Adrienne was also predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” Battease, daughter, Diana Battease, daughter-in-law, Sherry (Truax) Battease, and a nephew, Jeffrey P. Howk.

Left to cherish her memory include her son, Richard Jay Battease of Hartford, twin granddaughters, Barbara and Lisa Groover of Florida, grandchildren, Jeremiah Battease and Kyle Battease both of Hartford, Ryan Abare and wife, Caitlin, of Fort Ann, Andrew Abare and significant other, Christie Valenti, of Hudson Falls, and Stephanie Abare of Queens Village, brother, Charles Springer and his wife Phyllis of Philadelphia; her stepsister, Marie Cartier; her step-brothers, George, Robert, Eric and John Hungerford, nephew, Scott Howk of Cambridge, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Adrienne’s request there will be no calling hours.

Graveside services will be conducted in the spring in Morningside Cemetery, Hartford.
