Alice McCarthy, 48, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at her home.

Born on June 7, 1972, in Ticonderoga she was the daughter of the late Frederick Schaff Jr. and Shirley (Webster) Schaff.

She attended Fort Edward High School.

On June 7, 2000, Alice married her companion of 18 years, Kevin McCarthy Sr., in Hudson Falls. They spent 7 years together until his passing in July of 2007.

Alice was employed by Carol’s Daycare for many years. She loved all her daycare kids.

She enjoyed fishing, crafts, cooking, setting up parties, taking care of others, and having custody of her grandkids for 6 years Kaylee and Sage.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was predeceased by her first-born son, Curtis; sister, Jaqueline M. Shores; brothers-in-law, James Zanta and Travis Lavigne; sister-in-law, Denise Pacher; mother-in-law, Dianna McCarthy.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Kristie McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy Jr. and his wife, Danii; her companion, Manuel Hyland; step-son, Victor Hyland; her grandchildren, Alaska McCarthy, Kaylee, Sage Batcher, Shenett McCray ; her siblings, Patricia J. Zanta of Hudson Falls, Frederick W. Schaff III and his wife, Maritsa, Tammy L. Gosline and her companion, Don Gilick, William F. Schaff and his companion, Maryann, Carol A. Dominy and her husband, Joseph, Penny S. Fleeman and her husband, John, Jan Lavigne, Michael Schaff and his companion, Travis; aunts & uncles, Doris and Ronnie Olcott, Geraldine and Stanly McDonald, Annie and Mike Ritchie, Robert Webster; brother-in-law, Edward Shore; special niece, Shawna Allen, Brianna Summerville and Sierra Schaff along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call from 1pm to 2pm on Monday, August 24, 2020 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12809. Due to state regulations only 40 people are allowed in the funeral home at one time. Please see parking attendant upon arrival and kindly wait until you are directed in. Masks and social distancing are required.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2pm following the calling hours.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
