Angela "Angie"  Dickinson
South Glens Falls

Angela Aurilio Dickinson, 94, of Jackson Ave was escorted by angels into the arms of The Lord Saturday, November 3, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 12, 1918 in South Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Josephine (Russo) Aurilio.

Angela was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great great-grandmother who often threatened to knock someone’s block off. She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church and a charter member of the Altar Rosary Society. Angela was a devoted catholic and praying for others was a part of her daily routine. She was an avid collector of butterflies and angels, and took great pride in her family and was a friend to all.

Angela wans an Auzilary member fo the American Legion Post 202, She was the owner of Chester Gardens Florist in South Glens Falls for nearly 30 years. She was loved by everyone and found beauty in everything and everyone. Her beautiful smile and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents, Angela is predeceased by her husband of 51 years and the love of her life, Myron J. Dickinson, her sons, James and Michael, her daughter MaryLee Arpey Hadfield, a grandson, Michael Arpey and a very special friend of 85 years, Geri Edward.

Angela is survived by her sons, Stephen Dickinson and wife Sandy (Chakalis) of South Glens Falls and Peter Dickinson and wife Teresa (Piscatelli) of Glens Falls, adopted families, Craig and Tamsin MacDonald and The Ginsburg family, grandchildren: Tracy Oyler and husband Steve of Tennessee, Angela Ferazi and husband Rick of Florida, Jim Arpey and wife Cherly of Vermont, Steve Arpey and wife Lori of Amsterdam, Jodi Dake and husband Fred, James Dickinson and wife Doni, Stephanie Johnson and husband Todd all of South Glens Falls, Michele Dickinson Wescott of Glens Falls, Christopher Dickinson and wife Dreena of Malta; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Nicholas, Rebecca, Emily, Myles, Jaymeson, Jack, Mollie and Hayley Arpey, Jessie and Jacob Gerg, Samantha, Francesca, and Nicholas Ferazi, Kryssa, Kaylie, and Michael Dake, Taylor Wescott, Jayce Dickinson, Joseph Johnson, Jordan Quintal, Ava and Allie Dickinson, and Aidan McDonald; great grand-children: Kaylee, Jaylyn, Izzy and Hunter, five sisters in “love”: Rita, Lorraine, Sally, Pat, and Ginny; one brother-in-law: Ted. As well as many special friends including Honey Potter and Linda Flores, and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will follow the calling hours at 1:00 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor, and Rev. Thomas Babiuch as co-celebrants.

The Rite of Committal will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, So. Glens Falls.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Moreau Family Health, Moreau EMS, Father Tom Babiuch, the Glens Falls Hospital ER, and especially the nurses and staff of tower 3 for their patience and loving care.
