Ann J. (Girard) Montgomery, 99, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2014 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Fort Edward.

Born June 19, 1914 in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Miller) Girard.

During World War II, she worked for Pratt-Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT

Ann was an avid bowler and golfer. She wrote a bowling column for The Post Star and was responsible for starting mixed doubles.

In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her first husband, Howard L. Montgomery in 1969 and her second husband, Richard McConihe in 1999; her sisters, Lena LaCross, Mary D’Angelo, Rose Decesente, Katherine Parker, and Helen Waite, as well as her brother Anthony Girard.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Richard L. Montgomery and his wife Cheryl; her granddaughter Casey Bushey and her husband Chris, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4-6pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. To leave online condolences or to view Ann’s Book of Memories please visit www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.

Prayer services will be conducted at 6:00pm on Tuesday following the calling hours at the funeral home.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
