Obituary for Anne Marie Rose

Fort Edward

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Marie Rose, 67, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 14, 1956, in Whitehall, NY she was the daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy (Hunt) Rose.

Anne graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1976, after returning from a year’s absence for the birth of
her daughter.

Being a young mother, Anne provided for her child by working at The Fort Hudson Nursing Home as a nurse’s
aide. She continued to provide loving care for our elderly community until after the birth of her second child.
Anne chose to leave the job with a purpose to begin work for Mallinckrodt as a finishing operator, solely for
their benefits to better provide for her children. In 1994 Anne was diagnosed with bladder cancer. She survived one of her biggest battles in life, but was left disabled. Anne’s life was spared, but not without great hardships and many complicating illnesses. She went on to survive a stroke, thyroid cancer, and another stroke all while battling kidney disease and autoimmune diseases. A true warrior to say the very least, who along the way would stop to help anyone who needed it. Anne was independent to a fault, hated to ask for help and fought hard for a long time to care for herself.

Anne enjoyed Diet Pepsi, scratch off tickets, bingo, watching tv, but especially loved spending time with her
family.

Besides her parents and grandparents, Anne was predeceased by her son, Jason Todd Rose.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy L. Collins; her grandchildren, Megan Collins of Manhattan, NY,
Melanie Collins (Tyler) of Queensbury; great grandson Tyler “Bubba” Fanning; her sisters, Joan Rose,
Theresa Rose (David) all of Fort Edward; Nancy Rivett (Chris) of Queensbury; her nephews, Andy Rose
(Janelle), Ian Rose (Megan) all of Fort Edward; aunts, Lucy Baldwin and Sue Gilbert; several cousins, 2 great
nephews and 2 great nieces.

The family wishes to thank Tammy for all she did and the sacrifices made to grant her mother’s wish to never
be in a nursing home. Also, for opening the doors to her home for anyone wishing to visit Anne the last 10
months and for those wishing to stop the last 4 days to say goodbye to her.

Friends may call from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82
Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1pm following the calling hours at the funeral home.

Rite of Committal will be conducted following the funeral service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Edward.
