Obituary for Audrey "Fraulein " Delk

South Glens Falls

Audrey “Fraulein” Delk, 82, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Washington Center Nursing Home.

Born on August 8, 1938, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Frances (Neumann) Hoffmann.

She graduated from High School in Long Island.

On Feb. 2, 1956, Audrey married Jack “Tomahawk” Delk in Los Angeles, California.

She worked for various health care facilities, retiring from Fort Hudson Nursing Home as the Supervisor of the Adult Home. For many years she also volunteered for CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team) when she lived in California.

Audrey enjoyed traveling, listening to Elvis Presley and Luciano Pavarotti, crossword puzzles, mahjong and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Audrey was predeceased by her siblings, Mae Helen Giaimo, Howard Hoffmann Sr. and Robert Hoffmann; her son-in-law, Wayne Bushey.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Debra (Joe Burch) Bushey, Glen (Cathy) Delk and Cheryl Delk; her sister, Helen Gravitt; her grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer, Jessica, Sarah, Rachel, Kristina, Emily “Emmie”, Ryan and Kayla; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Audrey’s request there will be no calling hours. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929 or to American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rubin Dialysis Center in Saratoga Springs. They also wish to extend a thank you to Dr. Mihindu for all his care and support he has given to Audrey over the years.
