Obituary for Barbara Ruth Caputo (Tuttle)

Barbara Ruth  Caputo (Tuttle)
FORT EDWARD –

Barbara Ruth Caputo, age 85, of Broadway, died peacefully on Sunday September 30, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born on April 1, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Harvey) Tuttle. She graduated from South Glens Falls High School.

Barbara married the love of her life, Frank Caputo, on September 25, 1949 in St. Joseph Church in Fort Edward. Frank passed away in 2002.

Barbara was a devoted and caring mother, and with her husband raised seven beautiful children. Her three boys and four girls were the focus and light of her life. As they grew into adulthood she carried on this great compassion for her family to her extended family of 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Barbara volunteered at St. Joseph’s food pantry, the Glens Falls Hospital Guild, and the Toys for Tots program. She also loved to read, and to care for her home and yard.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 53 years, Barbara was predeceased by her two sons, Joseph and James Caputo.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Suzanne M. Caputo of Port Charlotte, Fl; Betsy A. Measeck of Baltimore, MD; Christine M. Johnson and her husband, Stephen; David J. Caputo of Hemet, CA; Karen L. Hayward and her husband Brian;18 Grandchildren: Vincescia Caputo; Kelly White and her husband Chris; Frank Caputo and his wife Leigh; Christopher Caputo and his wife Jessica; Elisa Tousignant and her husband Dan; Adam Hauck and his wife Jennifer; Rachel Hauck;
Daniel Hauck; Stephen Hauck and his wife Michelle; Rebecca Measeck; Audra Goodness and her husband Derick; Abigail Johnson; Anthony Caputo; Matthew Caputo; Stephanie Caputo;
Sarah Frasier and her husband Andy; John Dolphin; Hannah Hayward. 13 Great-Grandchildren;
Her Sister, Joan MacArthur and her husband, Stan; Her two half-sisters, Beth DePew and Nancy Davenport; and her half-brother Glen Tuttle; Her Daughter-In Law, Jill Caputo; As well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins and many wonderful friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m on Wednesday October 3, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway Fort Edward with Rev. Thomas Babuich, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Fort Edward.
