FORT EDWARD

Barbara Carroll Sheehan, 80, of Fort Edward, returned home to God on February 13, 2013.
Barbara was a true and humble servant of the Lord; she lived her faith every day without compromise. Her countless acts of kindness are what made her such an extraordinary daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Barbara was a constant inspiration even throughout her long illness. She will be truly missed.
Barbara was born February 12, 1933 in Bristol, CT. She was the daughter of the late Ethel (Tull) (1937) and Daniel Carroll (1940). After the loss of her father, Barbara and her brother Dennis moved to Fort Edward, NY where they were raised by their beloved (Aunt) Blanche Carroll (1970).
Barbara is a graduate of Fort Edward High School (1951) and of Albany Business College (1952). She worked for General Electric Hudson Falls until 1959, when she left to marry John (Jack) Sheehan who passed away in 1994. She devoted herself to their family and home. Once their children had grown, Barbara returned to the workforce at the New York State Department of Labor.
Barbara leaves behind her children Theresa (Ian) Gunn of Stanford, CT, Tim (Genina) of East Greenbush, NY, Brian (Terri) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Patrick (Paige) of Concord, NC, John (Lara) of Hudson Falls, NY and Maryanne Sheehan of Rensselaer, NY; her grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Emilee, Connor, Annalina and Cameron. She is also survived by her loving brother Robert Carroll of Naples, FL and many treasured nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Barbara is predeceased by her brothers Daniel, William and Dennis and her sisters Anne Block, Mary Vignone and Teresa Daly.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 18 at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward with Father Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will be at the convenience of the family.
