Obituary for Beatrice M. Alden LaPoint (White)
Beatrice M. Alden LaPoint, 96, passed away on January 26, 2018 at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born August 19, 1921 in Cohoes, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Hermine (Miron) White.
Beatrice married William B. Alden who passed away in 1972 after 29 years of marriage. Her second husband, Wayne LaPoint, predeceased her in 1997.
Beatrice worked as a self-employed insurance agent at Community Insurance Agency for many years. She was also the past president of the Glens Falls Insurance Women, a member of the Glens Falls Hospital Guild, as well as the Senior Citizens of the Town of Moreau, Glens Falls, and Queensbury. She also loved to play golf, bowling, duplicate bridge, and oil painting. Her greatest joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Beatrice was predeceased by her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, William F. Alden and his wife, Pat of Virginia and Mark E. Alden and his wife, Diane of New Hampshire, her daughters, Patricia M. Nichols Junk and her husband, Ben of Arizona, and Nancy A. Wilson and her husband, Dave of South Glens Falls, her brother, Russ White of South Glens Falls, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am on August 18, 2018 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY 12803, with Rev. Marty Fisher, officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
