Bernice Ann Doody, 61, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at her home from complications of A.L.S.

Born in Corinth on October 19, 1950, she was the daughter of Bernard and the late Marion (Stearns) Sutliff.

Bernice graduated from Hadley Luzerne Central School in 1968.

On March 19, 1983, she married James Patrick Doody at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Corinth, NY.

Bernice worked for the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, Niagara Mohawk, South Glens Falls School District as a bus driver, and finally retiring from the Post Office in Gansevoort.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping, boating, was an avid Nascar Fan, and loved spending time with her family.

Besides her mother, Bernice is predeceased by her infant brother, Robert Sutliff and infant sister, Cathy Sue Sutliff.

Left to cherish her memories are her father, Bernard Sutliff of Hadley, her husband of 29 years, James Doody, daughters, Anna Doody and Erin Doody and her companion, Jeffrey Greenwood all of South Glens Falls, brothers, Bernard Sutliff and wife Kathleen of Lake Luzerne, Michael Sutliff and his companion Giselle Barnes of Hadley, sisters, Barbara Sutliff and her husband, Jerry Grugan of Wilton, Linda Sutliff and her companion, Cliff Steinauer of Hadley, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 2pm-5pm on Sunday July 1, 2012 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St, So. Glens Falls, NY 12803. Online condolences may be posted at kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30am on July 2, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Flossie Gage Bates, officiating.

Burial will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Miller of the ALS Center at St. Peters Hospital and Dr. Shefner of Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and their staffs for the compassionate care given to Bernice at this most difficult time.
