ARGYLE –

Betsy M. Bristol, 51, of East Street, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born on December 28, 1960 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Bristol and Betty (Fisher) Bristol.

Betsy graduated from Argyle Central School class of 1979 and from ACC with a degree in Nursing. She was currently the School Nurse at Argyle Central and was an active member with many years of service of the Argyle EMS, the Argyle Fire Department and Auxiliary; answering calls as recent as a week ago. She was a Critical Care Tech for Argyle EMS and a former instructor for the Mountain Lakes Regional EMS Council. She was the founder, driving force and creator of the Thanksgiving organization F.E.A.S.T. (Friends Ensuring a Super Thanksgiving), the Argyle Parade Committee and Operation Santa Clause through Argyle Central School. Betsy loved her job at the school, the children, her family and her community. She was always there to help and lend a hand, had time for others and put their needs before her own. Betsy created many adventures for her family and friends.

Besides her parents she was also predeceased by several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include her mother, Anna Bristol of Argyle, her brothers, George Bristol of Fort Edward, Gregory Bristol and his wife Janet and Glenn Bristol and his wife Terri all of Argyle, Tom Conkey and his wife Shirley, Vista, CA; and sisters, Darlene Tripp and her husband Michael of Fort Edward and Patty Davis of Argyle; her nieces and nephews, Mike Bristol and wife Robin, Alan Bristol, Pamela Lynn Dufresne and husband Patrick, Amber, Brit, Jenn and James; Brian Tripp and wife Anita, Chad Davis and Jamie and Scott Davis; great nieces and nephews, Brooke, James & Emily, Kyleigh & Samuel, Connor & Danielle; her two uncles, Paul Fisher, John Sweet and wife Mary Lou, numerous cousins and many close friends.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at the Argyle Fire Dept. Route 40, Argyle. The Argyle Fire Department and Auxiliary are requested to meet at 5:30pm at the Fire Department.

Services will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at the Argyle Fire Department, Route 40, Argyle.

She requests everyone to Pay if Forward. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Friends of Hospice, 415 Lower Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY 12839 or to St. Jude Children’s research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
