Obituary for Carl G. Rudio

Carl G. Rudio
Queensbury

Carl Gail Rudio, 84, died peacefully at his home on June 14, 2015. He was a father, husband, teacher, and friend. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends.
Carl graduated from South Glens Falls high school and the University of Buffalo. He served in the US Army and was a dedicated worker at General Electric for almost forty years. After retirement from GE, he continued working at the Hiland Golf Club for many years.
He and his first wife Betty raised 6 children. They taught their children faith, how to respect all, manners, good work ethics and above all integrity. As a father, he took his children on many trips, showing them the world was there to explore, and that there was always something to learn. He was proud of his family; from always sharing his proud moments of walking around the “Rudio Estate”, his love of his family genealogy, to going for day trips to the beach. The love he showed to his family will be deeply missed.
In 1990, he married Florence Clough and they enjoyed over 25 happy years together.
Carl was an Eagle Scout and respected the American Flag. He had great respect for his country and fellow man. Carl had many hobbies; his gardening, sports, music, family genealogy, stock club, photography and more. He enjoyed life; especially his love of golf and fellow golfers.
He was a gentle soul loved by many.
Carl was predeceased by his parents and two sons, Greg and Blair, and a step grandson, Maclane. He is survived by his wife, Florence, his children and step children: Debbie Converse [Jim], Laura Rudio [Bob Cogan], Beth Pellino [Louis], Nancy Ingalsbe [William], Michele Reid [John], Jill Fronhofer [Kyle], and Steven Clough; his brothers Henry [Cora Sue] and Ronnie, 14 grandchildren, and his first wife Betty Benson, along with several nieces and nephews.
Carl’s family would like to thank everyone involved with his care and support, especially during the past year: Phil, Matt, Valerie, Michele, Dick, Elaine, Ken, Maggie, and Roxy of High Peaks Hospice, and his caregiver, Marinea, who was at his side when he asked “Where have you been?” on Saturday, June 13, 2015.
Carl would be pleased to have family and friends celebrate his life. Please come at your convenience between 9 AM and noon, Saturday, June 20th at 69 Crane Ct, Queensbury to share memories of Carl.
Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
