Catherine (Ashley) Havens, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Stoneham, MA on July 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ivas (Nichol) Ashley.

On May 1, 1945, Catherine married the love of her life Clarence Havens in Glens Falls. Together they settled in Hudson Falls to raise their family. They spent 64 wonderful years together before his passing in 2010.

Catherine enjoyed her flower gardens, crafts (especially her ceramics in which she gave away many as gifts), and loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who treasured the time she had with them.

Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a sister, Mary Rae, brother's and sister's in-law, Edward Havens and his wife Marion, Elizabeth Doty and her husband Walter, Donald Lawrence, Marshall Havens, Robert LaRock, Frank Walsh, and Jack Havens.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Michael Havens and his wife, Teresa, David Havens and his companion, Mary Macura, Gail Newell and her husband, James, Colleen Kubish and her husband, Donald, Terry Havens and his companion, Lois Liebig, Patrick Havens and his wife, Felicia, and Jack Havens and his wife, Cindy, her grandchildren: Michael Havens Jr., Andrea Vigar, Erica Vigar, David Havens and wife Katherine, Mark Havens, Jason Havens and his wife Elizabeth, Sarah Havens, James Newell and his wife Michele, Brian Newell and his wife, Jaci, Katie Havens and her companion Ray, Donna Havens and her fiancé Patrick Cross, Charles Havens, Shannon Havens, and Jack Havens; her great-grandchildren: Michael Havens III, Aylea Schmidt, Kylie Jo Riley, Kennedy Havens, Whitney Boothby, Lillian Newell, Abbigail Newell, Mia Newell, Emma Newell, Katherine Havens-Kew, and Hunter Havens- Kew; sister’s in-law: Helen Havens, Phyllis Lawrence, Patricia LaRock and her companion Tom Kenney, Joan Walsh and her companion Lee Turner, and Connie Havens; and a brother in-law: Fred Branch, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm on Thursday April 17, 2014 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 82 Broadway Fort Edward, NY 12828 with Regina Haag, Adirondack Friends Meeting, officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fort Edward.
