Obituary for Cathy Lou Lepeniotis
GANSEVOORT
Cathy L. (Ridings) Lepeniotis, 74, passed away peacefully at the Glens Falls Center following a short illness.
Born December 6, 1948, in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Brown) Ridings.
Cathy proudly served her country in the United States Army in the early 1970s as a nurse at the Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO. Upon her return home she worked as a registered nurse at several hospitals, most recently in the Pediatric Oncology Department at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
In July of 1984, Cathy married Stefanos Lepeniotis in Athens, Greece. The country remained near and dear to her, and she enjoyed traveling there every year. Cathy loved the mountains, beaches, food and drinks in Greece, but mostly enjoyed the people she met there. Cathy also loved her favorite dogs, Bear, Rocky, and Bella.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 39 years, Stefanos Lepeniotis, her sisters; Andrea Vanloan and Peggy Fort (Gary), as well as her sister-in-law Daphne Lepeniotis and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-6pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6pm following the calling hours with Rev. Laura Mitchell of the First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls officiating.
Burial will take place at Southside Cemetery in the spring at the convenience of the family.
