Obituary for Charles Lewis "Chuck" Viele

Charles “Chuck” Viele, 64, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 29, 1949 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Lester Viele, Jr. and Shirley Tucker.
Chuck was a friend to all animals and rescued numerous cats and dogs. He loved watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr., and also enjoyed football. Chuck was a Giants fan. Before his illness, he also enjoyed playing baseball and horseshoes. He and his family watched the Tour de France every year.
Chuck was predeceased by his brother, Craig Viele, and his step-mother Colleen Viele.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 22 years, Cathy (Mattison) Viele, his children; Genevieve Viele and her fiancé Michael Gaither, Timothy Woodard and his significant other Jenn Bonnell, Christina Kelsey and her husband Shannon, Jeremy Viele and his wife Anita, and Charles “Chip” Viele and his significant other Jessica Clark, eleven grandchildren, including baby Olivia who he never got to meet, his sisters; Connie Miller and her husband Jeffery, Cindy Viele and her husband Jeff Kendzierski, as well as several step-siblings, his favorite uncle Ernie Viele, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Chuck’s request, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home,136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. To leave online condolences or to view Chuck’s Book of Memories, please visit www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at a later date.
