Clifton A. “Benny” Benware, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Malone, NY on April 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Clifton H. and Frances (Pliscofsky) Benware.

In April 1965, Benny married Donna Jordan at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward where he was a long time communicant.

Magee worked locally at Ciba Geigy for 18 years and retired from Finch Pruyn.

He enjoyed fishing, puttering in the garage, and camping on Trout Lake every summer, but most of all, he was the happiest when he was around his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 47 years, Donna Benware of Fort Edward, children, Mark Benware and wife Gail of Queensbury, Patti and fiancé Kevin Whible of Barre, VT, and Lori Welch and husband Gary of Warrensburg, grandchildren: Haylie Benware, Briauna Plisko, Sean Welch, Peter Welch, and Alexis Peake; siblings: Alex Benware and wife Joanne, Patricia Bolan and husband Lyle, Nancy Palmer and husband Peter, Tony Benware and wife Mary, David Benware and wife Doreen; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday September 1, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Church 164 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828 with Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fort Edward.
