Obituary for Crystal Ellen Palmieri (Mosher)

GLENS FALLS

Crystal E. Palmieri, 65, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at The Pines in Glens Falls.

Born August 5, 1948 in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Inez (Carleton) Mosher.

Crystal was a member of the St. Francis Church in Lynn, MA. She volunteered for many church activities and used her amazing singing voice by performing with the church choir.

Crystal lived much of her life in Massachusetts and worked as a home health aide before returning to the Glens Falls area after retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Post 233 in Glens Falls. She was known for her young spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She loved to cook, and could often be found singing along to the oldies on the radio as she and her niece (who was more like a sister) Nancy drove to the Akwasane Casino to play the slots. She was described as someone who “smoked like a hippie and drank like a pirate” while she enjoyed her vodka drinks. Crystal will be remembered for always having fun!

In addition to her parents, Crystal was predeceased by her sistes; Kay Lockwood, Gail Brothers, Shirley Abare, Elaine McFaul, and Lola Washburn, and her brothers; Clinton “Pete” Mosher, Gary Mosher, and Kenneth “Sonny” Mosher.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Muriel Hagboure and Maria Lane, her special grandson and caregiver Charles “Buddy” Palmieri, her grandchildren; Katelyn and Kyle Hagbourne, and Darrell Jr., Amanda, and Derek Lane, her great-grandchildren; Trevell and Makayla May Belmer and Isabella Marie Primus, her brothers; Martin and Johnny Mosher, her sisters; Betty Scarselletta, Margaret “Dolly” Manney, and Lona Atkinson, her special niece Nancy Scarselletta, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In accordance with Crystal’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. To leave online condolences or to view Crystal’s Book of Memories, please visit www.kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A graveside memorial service will be celebrated at 12pm on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls, NY with Sister Donna Irvine, SSND, Chaplain of Glens Falls Hospital, officiating.
