Daniel E. Rourke, 61, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 2, 1953 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Lewis F. and Marion L. (Wildey) Rourke.

Daniel attended South Glens Falls High School and SUNY Adirondack. He was the owner of McCarty-Rourke Insurance Agency in South Glens Falls from 1980 until he sold the business in 2010. He also owned and operated Lakeside Subs, Deli and More in Lake George Village with his family.

Daniel was a previous member of the Elks B.P.O.E #81 in Queensbury, a previous member of the Republican Committee in Gansevoort during the 1980’s, and a member of the Professional Insurance Association.

Daniel was an avid NASCAR fan and could often be found cheering on his favorite driver, Rusty Wallace. He also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the NY Jets. Daniel loved to travel to New Smyrna Beach, FL, and also enjoyed spending time in Saratoga and Lake George. He also loved to cook for his family. Most of all, Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his brother, Denny Rourke.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Gail (Edwards) Treceno-Rourke of Queensbury, his children; Daniel J. Rourke and his wife Kathleen of Queensbury, Heather Kuehl and her husband Brian of Hudson Falls, Rebecca Ring and her husband Jimmy of Wilton, Katie Treceno of Lake George,and Amy Kroll and her husband Rich of Fort Ann, his grandchildren; Kaelyn and Kendall Rourke, Riley Mae Kuehl, Jacob, Madalyn, Sophia and Kylie Ring, Kyle Robert Lanfear, and Adeline and Amaya Kroll, his brother Lewis “Fred” Rourke and his wife Rose of Wisconsin, his sister Mary Lou Imrie of Gansevoort, and his niece Christina Briggs of Ballston Spa.

A Memorial service will be held at 5pm at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Babiuch of St. Joseph’s Church officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
