David J. Gitto, 62, went to join his mother in heaven on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 29, 1952, in Glens Falls, NY he was the son of the late Joseph S. Gitto and Sylvia (Corlew) Gitto.

David enjoyed music and was an exceptional drummer as well as playing guitar. He loved spending time at camp and going out on the boat. He also loved to travel. He was a fan of the art of Norman Rockwell and enjoyed sports cars. Most of all, David loved being around his family and spending time with them.

Left to cherish his memory are his fiancée Teresa Albanese, his siblings; Frank Gitto and his fiancée Debbi Record, Alfred Gitto and his wife Debbie, Gail Sherman and her husband Tom, Paul Gitto, Michael Gitto and his wife Autumn, Joseph J. Gitto (who is still grounded), Concettina Warren and her husband Dana, Angela Gitto and her companion John Grant, Cheryl Sawn and her husband David, Gina Allen, his “brother” Ron “Woody” Wood, his aunt Gloria Cooley, Kelly Yole, who had a very special place in David’s heart, and her husband Will, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 4-7 on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

A funeral service will follow calling hours at 7pm at the funeral home.

Rite of Committal will be at 1pm on Saturday, April 25 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Edward.
