Obituary for Derrick "D" Perkins


Derrick “D” Perkins, 45, passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2020 at the Glens Falls Hospital with his family by his side.

Born September 20, 1974 in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of Robert L. Perkins Jr. and Mary Lou Hoffer.

Derrick graduated from South Glens Falls High School. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, and could also be found cheering on the NY Yankees. He enjoyed going to hunting camp with his brothers and occasionally fishing as well. He played the online game Everquest often, but was most well known for his love for pool. He was quite talented and was one of the top players in several area leagues including the Monday Night Masters (in which he played with his brothers), Tuesday Fun and Games, as well shooting pool at The Log Grill. Derrick was part of many championship league teams. He will be greatly missed by many.

Derrick is predeceased by his brother Michael S. Perkins, as well as his grandparents; Catherine White, Harold White, Catherine Perkins and her husband Robert Sr., and Mildred LaFountain.

Left to cherish his memory are his fianceé, Darcy Dellamattera, his son Jayden Perkins, his mother Mary Lou Hoffer, his father Robert Perkins Jr., his brother Jeffrey Hoffer (Lisa Stone), His sister Debra Mosher, his sister Cathy Moses, his brother Robert Perkins III, his brother William Perkins, his sister Honey Bee Cenate and her husband Robert, his brother Scott Perkins and his wife Liz, his sister Angel Spada and her husband Alex, his brother Chase Perkins, his brother Chad Perkins, his aunt Liz Moffre and her husband Pete, his uncle Tom Harrington, his aunt Gloria Perkins, his aunt Robin Morris, many nieces and nephews, as well as his cat Tootsie.

Friends may call from 2-4pm on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. A Prayer Service will be conducted at 4pm following the calling hours at 4pm.

Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Southside Cemetery.
