Kingsbury

Diane Louise Sutliff, 66, of County Rt. 43, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Feb. 12, 1948 in Ticonderoga, she was the daughter of Hattie (Quinn) Peek of Plattsburgh and the late William E. Peek Sr.

Diane graduated from Beekmantown High School, class of 1965 and from SUNY Plattsburgh for her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nursing and School Nurse Teaching. She taught nursing at SUNY Plattsburgh in her earlier years, and retired from Warren County Public Health as Supervisor and Director of Patient Services. On Feb. 17, 1973, she married Walter Sutliff Jr. in Plattsburgh. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling &RVing, motorcycling, driving her roadster, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Co. where she served as the financial secretary.

Left to cherish her memories besides her mother include her husband of 41 years as well as her sons, Steven Sutliff of Queensbury, Jason Sutliff and his wife Jenna of Hudson Falls, and Caleb Sutliff of Fort Edward; her grandchildren, Callon, Hailey, Hayden and Ethan; her sisters, Nancy Bisso and husband Richard of Pawleys Island, SC, Donna Fessette and husband Glenn of Plattsburgh, and Debbie Sorrell and husband Tom of Plattsburgh; her brothers, William Peek Jr. and his wife Anna of Niskayuna, and Jeffery Peek and wife Linda of So. Glens Falls, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Diane’s life will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Co., 3715 Burgoyne Avenue, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.

Donations may be made in her memory to High Peaks Hospice of Warren County, 79 Glenwood Ave, Queensbury New York 12804.
