Donald Henry Taft, 86, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born May 8, 1936, in Glens Falls he was the son of the late Allen and Katherine (Wall) Taft.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He was the owner and operator of a roofing company in Florida for many years.
Donald enjoyed going to the harness track to bet the horses and the last several years, spending time with his son Michael during the summer months. He was able to fulfill his last wish and travel to Georgia to see his son Michael’s home and meet some of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his sisters, Sandra Wendlen and Barbara Fox; daughters, Kim Brunelle and JoAnne Rawlins; and a son, Michael G. Taft Sr.
Left to cherish his memory include his sons, Gregg (Teresa) and Kevin Taft, Taft; daughter-in-law, Sara Taft; siblings, Robert Taft, Sharon Cote, Nancy Labarge, and David Taft; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
At Donald’s request there will be no calling hours.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
