Obituary for Douglas Stephen Hanna Sr.

Douglas Stephen  Hanna Sr.
Argyle

Douglas Stephen Hanna Sr., 65, passed away peacefully on Friday August 23, 2013 at Pleasant Valley Infirmary with his loving family by his side.

Born in Glens Falls on September 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Verna (Graham) Hanna.

Douglas grew up in the Argyle area and graduated from Argyle Central School in 1965.

He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and served his country proudly before being Honorable discharged in 1968 as a Sargent.

Douglas enjoyed giving to many area charities, and helping friends. He was a very caring and lovable man. Most of all, Douglas loved spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, Douglas is predeceased by an infant brother in 1950, brother, Richard Hanna

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Stephanie Hanna, Dee Dee Lacy, and Douglas Hanna II, grandchildren, Christopher Hanna, Austin Hanna, Damien Hanna, Kaylee Burch and Heather Lacy, twin brother, Darwin (Joanne) Hanna, sisters, Shirley Hanna and Brenda Tucker, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Per Douglas’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30am on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle with Rev. Stephen McLean, pastor of the Argyle Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Donations may be made in Douglas’s memory to Pleasant Valley Health Center, 4573 State Route 40, Argyle, NY 12809

The family wishes to thank the staff at Pleasant Valley for the great care and support they gave to Douglas.
