Obituary for Earl L Clark

GLENS FALLS

Earl L. Clark passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on November 23, 1932, in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Anna (Atwell) Clark.

After attending high school, he joined the Navy to proudly serve his country during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1953. During this time, he served on the U.S.S. Robert L Wilson in Korea in the Mediterranean Sea. He retired as a 1st Class Petty Officer. He was awarded the Good Conduct Award and had A Class training for his MOS. Upon his return home, he worked at Glens Falls Fire Dept serving his community for 22 years on Broad Street and Ridge Street as an “A” Platoon. After retirement he went on to work at Glens Falls Clinical Lab as a courier, driving 300 miles daily and then worked at Binley’s Florist. He was an executive board member for UCT (United Commercial Travels of America) and loved to travel and attend conventions.

Earl enjoyed HAM Radio, collecting antiques, especially coins, and loved to build and drive dune buggies in his younger years.

Besides his parents, Earl is predeceased by his wife, Edith I. Clark who passed away on October 30, 2013, sisters, Alice Hull and Dora Knowlton, and his grandchild, Colin Karl Mattison.

Left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Anita Clark and her sisters, Darlene Plude, Pamela Virag, and Denise Rubio, his brother, Don Clark, his grandchildren, Cody Clark and Garrett Mattison, good friends who were there in Earl’s time of need, Jan and Ken Topping, especially Morgan Topping, and Nikki Donavan, his cherished nephew David Clark along with many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday December 15, 2022, from 9-11am at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. A service will follow at 11:00am.

Burial with military honors will commence at 12:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.


Earl’s family would like to give a special thanks to his nurse, Heather Secor from 4 West as well as Tower 2 at Glens Falls Hospital for all their care and compassion, they were able to give Earl.
