With a heavy heart , I lost my best friend, my soulmate, my person! Edward Peter Merlow Sr (Pete), 84, of Clearwater, Fl, formerly of Third St, Glens Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly, at home, surrounded by his loving Wife and his fur babies Lily, Zoey, and Sophia by his side on May 4, 2020, into the loving arms of his daughter Joann Merlow, and his loving son Edward Peter Merlow Jr. Born in Granville, NY, he was the son of Franklin Peter and Margaret Bassette Merlow.

Pete was raised in middle Granville, NY by his loving grandparents Jeremiah and Helen (Nellie) Forn Bassette (Ma & Pa) as he called them.

Pete was a graduate of Granville High School. He retired from General Electric Co. in Hudson Falls / Fort Edward, NY, after 35 years of service and worked for the Hudson Falls Police Department. He served his country in the United States Air Force 802nd Air Division (SAC).

Pete was an avid amature radio operator, call sign WA2HXX , and he built his first radio at the age of 16. In 1967 he started the Carrier Net with W1KKD, and it is still going today. He loved electronics, the more the better. He was always the go to person, if anyone had trouble with anything he was there. He loved working on computers and helping his friends with theirs. He loved his Goldwing motorcycle, airplanes, camping trips to Maine and New Hampshire, amateur radio festivals, deep sea fishing with his grandsons Dylan and Marky, and his Grandsons loved spending the summers with their Poppy. Most of all he loved just being home, spending time with his wife and his fur babies, who brought so much joy to him.

Burlett Jr, sister in law Joan C. McGarr, and brother in law William J Burlett.
