Obituary for Edward James Parker

Edward J. “Pops” Parker, 71, of Comstock passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.

He was born to the late Hazel Marego on February 1, 1942 in Worcester, MA.

Edward later joined the United States Air Force where he completed his education and became an aircraft mechanic.

He married the late Wanita Parker in 1978 and lived together in Schuylerville until her passing.

He was a proud member of the Vails Gate Fire Dept. and the American Legion.

Pops enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with those he loved. He will be remembered for his love and compassion for everyone he met. His stories of the past will forever leave us with a smile.

Besides his wife and mother, Edward is predeceased by a son, Micheal Parker, a grandson Matthew Kelley and close family friend, Kayla Bain.

He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Lyon and her husband Joshua, Deborah Hingoo and her husband Keashun, sons, Robert Kelley Jr. and his wife Shelly, and Philip Parker, grandchildren, Ashleigh and Shelby Wheat, John Keck Jr., Zackery and Kyle White, Tyler Kelley, Katelyn Kelley, and Amanda and Kerri Donaldson, great grandchildren, Mickayla, Alijah, Johnathan, David, Thomas, Madeline, Kole, Landynn, and Kaiden, close family friends, Cynthia Raych, and Tammie Waite, nieces, Tammy Simm and Michelle Rodriguez, and many other very special nieces and nephews and others who had been adopted by “Pops” along the journey.

A funeral service will be conducted following hours at the funeral home at 8pm.

Burial will be at 12 noon on Monday December 23, 2013 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Cemetery, Schuylerville.
