Fort Edward -

Eileen Jones of East Road died on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at the Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Fort Edward.

Born in Chicago, Ill. on May 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Worth and Harriet (Anderson) Stickney.

Eileen was a graduate of Fort Edward High School Class of 1938.

She married Alfred Jones in Bainbridge, Georgia in 1943. Al passed away in July, 2003.

Eileen was a former member of the Fort Edward Eastern Star Chapter and a member of the Fort Edward Village Baptist Church. She worked at Sandy Hill Iron and Brass but will be remembered as the “Avon Lady”. She sold Avon products in the area for over 40 years.

Survivors include 2 sons, Gary Jones and his wife Alice of Fort Ann, Richard Jones and his wife Margaret of Silver Springs, MD; 3 grandchildren, Derek Shaw and his wife Jessica of Fort Edward, Emily and Irene Jones of Silver Springs, MD and a great granddaughter, Madison Shaw of Fort Edward; a sister Muriel Sollosy and her husband Frank of Argyle; a niece, Donna Sutton of Lake George, several other nieces, nephews, cousins; and a very special friend Ruth Losaw.

Friends may call on the family from 10 to 12 noon on Tuesday, Aug. 10th . The funeral will follow at 12 noon at the M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828. Rev.
