Elizabeth “Betty” J. Hayes, 90, formerly of McCrea Street, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Washington Center in Argyle.

Born on May 15, 1923 in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Conley) Bowe Sr.

Betty was a graduate of Fort Edward High School and a lifelong resident of Fort Edward. On July 14, 1945 she married James T. Hayes. He passed away on Dec. 28, 2002.

Besides her parents, Betty was also predeceased her two brothers, Joseph and Buddy Bowe.

Survivors include her sons, James T Hayes Jr. and his wife Laura of Glens Falls, Patrick Hayes of Albany, and Sean Hayes and his wife Joanne of LaQuinta, California; her granddaughter, Robyn Hayes of Saratoga and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are private and the convenience of the family.

The Rite of Committal will be later in the spring in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Edward.
