Elizabeth “Betty” Crocker Olmsted, 88, formerly of South Glens Falls passed away on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Adirondack Tri County Health Care Center, North Creek.

Born in Livermore Falls, ME on June 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Frances (Webber) Crocker.

Betty was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School in Livermore Falls, ME and the Auburn Maine School of Commerce in Auburn, ME in 1945.

She worked for the Bursar of Bates College in Lewiston, MA and the Woodlands Dept. International Paper Co. in Chisholm, ME.

On October 25, 1947, she married Norwood “Woody” Olmsted of Charleston, ME. They spent 58 wonderful years together before his passing in 2005. Betty is also predeceased by her beloved dog, Ben.

In 1951 they moved to South Glens Falls, where they have resided ever since. She was a former member of Charity Rebecca Lodge and Oriental Star Lodge, Washburb Chapter AF and AM of Livermore Falls, ME, Newcomb United Methodist Church and attended the First Baptist Church of South Glens Falls.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Wesley A. Olmsted and wife Debbie of Newcomb, daughter, Major F. Elaine Williams and husband David of Puyallup, WA, two grandchildren, Charles Olmsted, and Grant Williams, two great grandchildren, Michael, Roselina, and Skylar Olmsted, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Betty’s request, there will be no calling hours or service.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
