Erin Rae Burke, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at her home.
Born on June 26, 1980, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of Raymond and Barbara (Perry) Austin.
She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1998. For 12 years she worked for Verizon and as a Veterinarian Assistant at Battenkill Veterinary when the horses were foaling. Erin was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Greenwich. She volunteered as an EMT for Easton Greenwich, Argyle and General Schuyler Rescue Squads.
On August 24, 2002, Erin married James Burke in Greenwich.
Erin loved all her dogs, cats and goats especially her dog, Preston. She was always the person that would help anyone who was in need.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Earl and Betty Austin; her maternal grandfather, James Perry.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, James; her parents, Ray and Barbara Austin; her sister, Aimee Austin; her niece, Haley; her maternal grandmother, Florence Perry; her mother and father-in-law, James and Barbara Burke; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 12 to 2pm on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Argyle, NY 12809.
A Funeral Service will be conduced following the calling hours at 2pm at the funeral home.
Following the Funeral Service there will be a reception at Ray and Barb’s house.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
