Ernest “Ernie” J. Spear, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023, with his loving wife by his side at the Wesley Health Care Center.

Born on September 2, 1936, in Fort Edward, he was the son of the late Joseph Walkup and Ruth Spear.

He worked for many years at Nibco Inc and volunteer fireman and EMT.

Ernest enjoyed playing horseshoes, word search puzzles, being with his friends at Sully’s Tavern, spending time with his special angel, Dom. He was always a giving person with a big heart.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years, Louella; his children, Michelle, Barbara, Ernie, Fred, Larry, and Ann; his siblings, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At Ernie’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Services and burial will be private and to the convenience of the family.

Donations in Ernie’s memory can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
