Everett “Jack” Collier, 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 09, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 20, 1920 in Fort Edward, NY, he was the son of the late Percy and Lina (Roberts) Collier.

Jack enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1942 and proudly served his country until 1946.

Jack married Jean (Naylor) Collier and raised his family in Fort Edward. Jean passed away in 1991.

Jack always had a way of lightening the mood with his dry sense of humor. He enjoyed camping at his “Chateau” on the Hudson River where he could often be found enjoying a cold Genny, and was also an avid gardener. He was especially good at growing roses.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Jack was predeceased by his daughter Jacqueline Hendricks, his brothers, David, Walter and Floyd Collier, and his sister Gloria Monroe.

Left to cherish his memory are his son William Collier and his wife Susan, and his son Michael Collier and his wife Donna, his grandchildren; Joel and his wife Lauren, Kim, Kathleen “Gert”,Alicia “Bob”, Michael, Joseph and Mackenzie, his great-grandchildren; Ryan, Reagan, Jack, Mykah, Brayden, Lily, and Lexi, his brother Roy Collier, and his son-in-law Timmy Hendricks.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30am on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Church, 164 Broadway in Fort Edward with Rev. Thomas Babiuch officiating.

Rite of Committal will follow Mass at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Edward.

Memorial donations can be made in Jack’s name to the South Glens Falls Marathon Dance, 6 Bluebird Road, South Glens Falls, NY 12803, or to Maggie’s Kidney Transplant Fund, c/o Isobel Munoff, TD Bank, 54 Quaker Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kandora and to all the staff of T-3 at Glens Falls Hospital for their kindness and compassion while Jack was ill.
