Florence P. McIntyre, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Danby, VT on July 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Maud (Harrington) Parker.

She was a 1953 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School in Rutland, VT.

On August 2, 1954, Florence married her best friend Wilbur “Bus” McIntyre in Danby, Vt.

Florence was employed by the Hartford Central School in the cafeteria. She also helped her husband run their dairy farm, Mac’s-Clan Farm in Cossayuna.

She enjoyed cooking, watching the birds at the feeders, was an avid reader, loved receiving cards from family and friends, and was active in the Republican Party. Florence was known to help anyone in need and often took in children from the neighborhood and fed them.

Florence and her husband loved to travel. Some of their favorite places to visit were Scotland, England, Martinique, Canada, Florida and North Dakota.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 59 years Wilbur “Bus” McIntyre, children, Gibb McIntyre and wife Colleen of Grand Island, FL, Tracy Wallace and husband Bob of Charlottesville, VA, Holly Burch and husband Tommy of Hartford, NY, two children they helped raise, Martin Farrar and wife Lynne of Greenwich and David Farrar and wife Karen of Hudson Falls, grandchildren, Charity Hammer and husband Christoph, Amanda Gwinup and husband John, Rob Wallace, Luke Burch, Kacie Farrar, Justin Farrar, and Shaina Curley and husband Paul, great-grandchildren, Anja Hammer, Zoey Hammer, Abigail Gwinup, and Rosalinde Gwinup, siblings, Merle Parker and wife Paula of Cavendish, VT, Gayle Buck and husband Kenneth of West Rurtland, VT, and Peter Parker and wife Jean of Manchester, VT, special friends, Margarit Heer, Pat and Don Dorr, Bill and Kathy McIntyre, and Bill Brady, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. Patricia Girard, pastor of Hartford Yoked Parish, officiating.

Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery, Hartford, NY.
