George Moses, 80, passed away on October 22, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 5, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of Abraham and Sarah (Ferris) Moses.

George graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1955. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1955 - 1959. George served as a fireman with the Glens Falls Fire Department, retiring as a captain in 1987 after 25 years. During this time, he earned his Associate Degree in Fire Science from Schenectady Community College and taught at the community college for a number of years as a Fire Science instructor.

In 1962, George married Maureen Tubbs. They were together for 38 years until her passing in 2000.

George cherished his family above all else. His happiest moments were times spent with them, especially his three sons and his beloved granddaughters who called him "Gido".

He was an avid outdoorsman and spent most of his life enjoying hunting, fishing and camping.

In addition to his parents and wife, George was predeceased by his infant daughter Sherry Moses and sister and brother-in-law Mary Jane and Bob Oswald.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons Kevin and his wife Kelly, George and his wife Paige and Dan and his wife Hope, and his grandchildren Elizabeth Moses, Katie Moses and Emilie Moses all of Glens Falls; his brother Thomas Moses and wife Marianne of Keene, NH; his sister Jennie Grover and husband Terry of Queensbury, NY; his stepsons, William Ball and wife Suzanne of Queensbury, NY and Patrick Ball and husband Matt of East Greenbush, NY; his companion of 16 years, Mary Shoemaker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

As per George's wishes, burial services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in George's memory can be made to High Peaks Hospice, Inc. Warren County, 79 Glenwood Avenue, Queensbury, NY 12804.
