George Richmond, 99, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

He was the son of the late Perley F. and Mary (Walker) Richmond of Lee, Massachusetts.

Born on February 7, 1923, he graduated from Lee High School and enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1942. After service, he enrolled and graduated from Colgate University. In 1951, he married Jean Felton of Lenox, Massachusetts, and they had 54 years together before her death in 2005.

George spent his business life in the packing industry as a Product Manager for plants in Hudson Falls and Sibley, Iowa. George had a sharp wit and was a wonderful storyteller. He was loved by many at the Terrace at the Glen, where he spent his last years.

In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his brother Jack, who was killed in action.

Surviving him is his only son, Scott; his nieces Pamela Perry, Deborah Post and nephew, David Wark.

At George’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Services and burials will be private and to the convenience of the family.

He was an organ donor and later cremated. He asked that his ashes be interred in the family plot in Fairmont Cemetery in Lee, Massachusetts, next to his wife, Jean.
