Queensbury

Harold Smith, 85, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on September 30, 1930, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Walter and Bertha (Longo) Smith.

On November 6, 1953 he married the love of his life, Marjorie Newell, at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

Harold was employed with the Local #66, where he worked for forty years until his retirement.

He enjoyed attending hockey games at the Civic Center with his wife, snowmobiling and reading. He also was a member of the Moreau Community Center pool league. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, as well as his best friend, his dog, “Rocky”.

Besides his parents, Harold is predeceased by three brothers.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marjorie Smith; his two sons, Joseph Smith and Harold Smith Jr.; as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, Glens Falls, 62 Warren St. Glens Falls, NY 12801, with the Rev. Joseph G. Busch, pastor, of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish , Queensbury, officiating.

A Rite of Committal will follow at Southside Cemetery, South Glens Falls.
