Helena M. Van Arnum, 84, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 23, 1929 in Albany NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Hagadorne and Clara Van Arnum.

On May 20, 1962, Helena married the love of her life, Lloyd Van Arnum at the Dutch Reformed Church in Schuylerville.

Helena was employed for many years by Central Market. She was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Saratoga Springs.

Helena will always be remembered for her love of gardening. She grew many beautiful flowers, including dozens of irises and could often be found weeding her garden and keeping it beautiful.

In addition to her parents, Helena was predeceased by her grandson, Joshua Van Arnum, and her brother-in-law, Stuart Van Arnum.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Lloyd Van Arnum; her children, Tammy Meers, Brandon Van Arnum and his wife, Lisa, Desnie Van Arnum, Ronald Van Arnum and his wife, Priscilla, and Tonya Van Arnum; her grandchildren, Amanda Watzke, Justin Watzke, Tara Meers, Tiffany Meers, Nicholas Van Arnum and Damien Van Arnum; and her brother-in-law, Vernon Van Arnum and his wife, Shirley.

Interment will follow calling hours at 2pm at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday. August 9, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, Corner of Route 50 and Edie Road, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Memorial donations in Helena’s name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
