GLENS FALLS AND WEST HEBRON
Isabelle (Lundy) Keys, 93, a longtime resident of West Hebron, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 25, 2013 at The Pines Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Born at the Belcher Store on January 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace (Gibson) Lundy.
She graduated from Washington Academy in Salem and Plattsburg Normal School with a Bachelor’s Degree in teaching.
In 1946, she married Ralph Keys at her parents’ home in Belcher. They spent 39 years together before Ralph’s passing in August 1985.
Isabelle taught school at the one room Belcher School, Hartford School, and many years at Washington Academy.
She was a member of the West Hebron book club, West Hebron Fire Company where she was the 1st president of the Ladies Aux., and West Hebron United Presbyterian Church for over 65 years where she was a deacon, leader of the youth fellowship and a member of the couples club. Isabelle was a resident of the Pines since 2000 where she was president of the resident’s council for several years and enjoyed all the activities they had to offer.
Isabelle enjoyed reading, cooking and snowmobiling.
Besides her parents and husband, Isabelle is predeceased by her siblings, Ruth (John) Gordon, Clara (William), Gordon and Charles (Augusta) Lundy.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Nancy (Lyle) Purinton, and Peter (Loretta) Keys, grandchildren, Diana Keys, Vanessa Keys, and Stephanie (Jennifer) Sheldon-Purinton, one great grandchild, Harper Lynn Sheldon-Purinton, brother in-law, Raymond (Edith) Keys, nephew, Richard (Mary) Gordon, along with many cousins.

A funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Parker, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Salem, NY.
