Izel Dickerson, 61, lost his fight at Glens Falls Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born November 5, 1955 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of the late Mae Green Dickerson and was raised by Florence Dickerson.

Izel attended Tro Public Schools. He was a member of the Troy Boys Club and was active in the Boy Scouts. He joined the Bethel Baptist Church at a young age.

Izel went on to earn his Associates Degree along with other certificates. His favorite pastime was to pack up his Cadillac and head out fishing.

He found his passion in detailing cars and landscaping which he made a career from.

Izel is survived by his daughters; Gina Dickerson and Melissa Dickerson, two sons, Izel Dickerson Jr., and Joshua, two sisters, JoAnne an Regina, grandsons; Tony and Isaiah Lind, as well as six other grandchildren. He is also survived by his longtime companion and best friend Debra Marciano.

Friends may call from 2-3pm on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
