SOUTH GLENS FALLS
James Toole Boucher, age 69, passed away peacefully at the Glens Falls Hospital on Sunday, January 17, 2010.

Jim was born in Fort Edward, NY on October 23, 1940, the son of the late Paul and Marion (Toole) Boucher.

On September 15, 1962, Jim married the love of his life, Marcia Oudekerk, in St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls. They spent the next 47 and one-half years sharing their lives together, raising a family, and being each other’s best friend.

Jim’s life centered around his family first and his love for the fire service second. He was an active firefighter for over 50 years and served in numerous capacities holding both line and executive positions. He was especially proud of his tenure as Fire Chief with the South Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company. Most important to him was his family and being able to spend time with his children and grandchildren. His fondest pasttimes were making jigsaw puzzles and traveling. For those who knew Jim, jigsaw puzzles were not a trivial matter, as he mastered the completion of puzzles with thousands of pieces.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marcia; his children, Susan Palmer and her husband, Michael, of Madison, CT, Sandy Mahoney and her husband, Tom, of South Glens Falls, and Jim Boucher and his wife, Shelly, of South Glens Falls; his brothers, John Boucher and his wife, Helena, of Fort Edward, and Paul Boucher and his wife, Patricia, of Hudson Falls; his sisters-in-law, Karen Giamis and her husband, Tony, of Ballston Spa, Judy Guay and her husband, Bob, of Queensbury, and Sally Lemery and her husband, Frank, of Queensbury; his grandchildren, Sarah and Jennifer Palmer, Kelsey, Emily and Jason Boucher, and Logan Mahoney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on the family Wednesday, January 20, 2010 between 2 and 4 p.m. and 6 and 8 p.m. at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. Online condolences may be posted at kilmerfuneralhome.com.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, 80 Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 12 noon with Reverend Guy A. Childs, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
