Obituary for James D McRae Jr.
FORT EDWARD
James D. McRae Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 22, 1954, in Houston, TX, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Doris (Steves) McRae.
He was a graduate of Fort Ann Central School in 1972. On July 6, 1974, he married his one and only love, Phyllis Chabot at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Ann, NY. They just celebrated 48 years of marriage together.
James worked for over 20 years as a supervisor of Foster Wheeler (Waste Management). He retired from his position at 62 years old.
He loved riding his motorcycle with his wife Phyllis, his partner in crime, Michael “Nutley” Morrow and his wife Lori, and Dean and his wife Carol Farrell. James was a big fan of the Houston Oilers and his favorite driver of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Sr. He loved to watch WWF with his daughter, John Wayne movies, and the Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, The Terminator. Most of all he loved going to his favorite vacation spots, Hampton Beach, NH and Alexandria Bay, NY. His family and motorcycle family were the world to him.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis; his daughters, Danielle McRae O’Hara of South Glens Falls and Brandie McRae Ramsey of Fort Edward; two grandchildren, Lilianna and Skylar Ramsey of South Glens Falls; one sister, Didame Kamburelis of Fort Ann; nephew, Anthony Kamburelis Jr; niece, Jamiee Willis; great-niece, Isabel Willis; mother-in-law, Dawn Chabot.
At James’s request, there will be no calling hours and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 1-5pm at the American Legion in Hudson Falls.
A burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James’s memory to the S.P.C.A. of Upstate New York, 588 Queensbury Ave, Queensbury, NY 12804 and American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
Arrangements are in the care of the M. B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
